Common Field is a national network of independent visual arts organizations and organizers that connects, supports, and advocates for the artist-centered field. The Common Field Convening assembles 350+ arts organizers from across the country to share values and exchange practical resources and knowledge. Formats include panels, conversation sessions, working groups, teach-ins, field reports, workshops, social events, and arts programming.
This year’s Convening takes place Thursday, November 2 – Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Japanese American Cultural & Community Center in Little Tokyo in Downtown Los Angeles.
The Convening is organized in partnership with Los Angeles based independent, artist-centered organizers and organizations: Jia Gu of Materials and Applications, Eric Kim of Human Resources, Aurora Tang of the Center for Land Use Interpretation, and Sarah Williams of the Women’s Center for Creative Work, as well as 10 additional affiliate partners.
