Protest Sounds are sounds from protests against racial injustice and police brutality. Contributors from all over the United States recorded and shared hours of sounds from protests they attended to an audio stream project. Those sounds have been broadcasting continuously, 24/7 since the project’s inception. The clips range from 18 seconds to roughly 10 minutes and they come from a wide variety of protests that are in support of BIPOC. They were recorded in city streets, from a bicycle, to the side of a highway. They manifest in car honking, dinging bells, singing, speaking, shouting, chanting, and instrumentally. They are sonic moments that live in tandem with the powerful speeches that are pushing this movement forward.
